Wedding: Emily Infanger & Michael Coghlan

As Prince William and Princess Kate were married, we were also gearing up for a wedding.  That weekend we were in Asheville, NC, to celebrate the marriage of Emily and Mike, one of Emily P’s best childhood friends.  With so many people traveling from so far (Emily Coghlan is from Wyoming) the festivities stretched across two nights.

The first night, the rehearsal dinner was in downtown Asheville in a converted art gallery.  The Coghlans treated everyone to delicious Southern cooking which included bacon on the salad, shrimp and grits, and pie – yummy. There were many hours of watching images of Emily and Mike grow up, listening to touching toasts from their closest friends and family, remembering Zack, and sharing stories about the past and hopes for the future.

The weather was bright and sunny sky for the ceremony where Emily arrived via a horse-drawn carriage. The wedding featured many personal touches and was presided over by Mike’s aunt. The couple was full of smiles and joyously proclaimed their vows. Mike even surprised Emily with a second diamond-filled wedding band.

After the ceremony, we meandered over to reception area to enjoy some bison and wine and to celebrate the lovely couple.  After a slow first dance, they transitioned into a swing dance. The father-daughter dance was touching, as little five-foot Emily was dwarfed by her six foot plus father. The couple’s smiles were the perfect adornment for a festive and wonderful evening.

We were honored to share in this event, and we look forward to many more years of memories with the Coghlans.

Will you marry me?
