Russia: Moscow Metro

We had heard tales about the beauty of the Moscow metro system before arriving, but we weren’t sure what that could entail. Wow, were we blown away! The metro stops are considered the “palaces of the people.” Indeed, some of them seemed like ballrooms to us. They were filled with chandeliers, statues, art work, stained glass, and painted ceilings. Even more impressive was how the trains arrived every 2-3 minutes (even late in the evening) and could take us everywhere in the city. We really enjoyed using this public transportation system.

  1. My lord, that is quite a Metro system. But do they have dilapidated cars that crash into each other? You cannot really call it a Metro unless it has that going for it.
