Old Town Alexandria

During the DC heatwave of February 2009 we went exploring in Old Town Alexandria. This section of DC (okay, Virginia) is very similar to Georgetown with the old colonial houses and was the main port until the C&O canal was developed on the opposite side of the Potomac.

After meandering down King Street and ducking into some of the stores we watched the birds play in the water down by the harbor. Just before sunset Emily’s friends arrived and with them came the moon which rose above the Potomac. Below is a photo from Rob with a sailboat below the full moon. The rest are here on SmugMug.

  1. This is an area of VA that I would like to explore. I believe there is a Morican Restaurant in the area. We walked around this section late one night in July after taking the cruise boat down the Potomac. It was a beautiful night.
