An old friend, Hoya basketball, and a party.

This past weekend we went out sans camera so there are no photos.  We did, however, enjoy Alex’s birthday at Cady’s Alley.  While there we also met Erin’s boyfriend.  It was nice to hear some of his experiences training in the Marines.

On Saturday we took it easy in the morning before heading to the Georgetown-Providence basketball game at the Verizon Center.  The beginning did not look promising with Georgetown down at halftime, but the Hoyas pulled away with a 21-2 run in the second half before Providence made it interesting at the end.  Monroe put an end to any comeback with a thunderous two handed slam with about a minute left.

At the game we ran into Paul Bonilla who we hadn’t seen since he left to study in Geneva.  We got together with him as well as a couple others after the game over at MatchBox to enjoy some mini-burgers and catch up.

The rest of the weekend was fairly low-key as we caught up on some things that needed to be taken care of.  We’re looking forward to the Syracuse game on Wednesday and then the festivities surrounding the Inauguration and MLK weekend.
